Boxelder Bowl 2

Our woodturner’s club received a call that 5 boxelder trees had died and were to be removed. So our chainsaw bunch did their job and plenty of wood was available for those interested. You have to cut out and around the dead wood but what remains has high burl content as you can see below. This natural edge bowl is 11″ side and varies on the sides from 3.5″ to 6.5″ tall which makes turning a bit interesting. I used a light coat of driftwood stain to highlight the burl pattern.
